3D Scanning

3D scanning is dramatically faster than traditional methods of data collection, such as tripod-based scanners, measuring arms, or CMMs. At Absolute3D, we offer 3D scanning services at our fully equipped Melbourne studio or on location anywhere in Australia. Our advanced 3D laser scanner boasts an accuracy of 20 microns, with adjustable resolutions down to 25 microns. It’s truly portable, taking just minutes to set up and be ready to scan.

After scanning, we can convert the data into CAD models in neutral formats such as STEP, IGES, and Parasolid, compatible with all major CAD programs. Alternatively, we can provide native parametric models for SolidWorks, CATIA, and Siemens NX users.

Our 3D scanning services can be integrated with our design and manufacturing capabilities to create and reproduce parts for a wide range of applications.

Absolute3D provides a comprehensive reverse engineering and CAD (computer-aided design) modeling service. Our in-depth knowledge of manufacturing processes and material properties, allows us to design parts and products for a diverse range of industries. For manufacturing purposes, we provide CAD models in neutral formats such as STEP, IGES, or Parasolid. If redesigning parts is the objective, we can provide native parametric models, with support for multiple CAD programs. Drawings can be supplied in DXF, DWG, or PDF format.
