Our client sells electric handbrake conversion kits and hired Absolute3D to design an insert to mount the switch.

The original handbrake was completely removed as the electric handbrake would be taking it’s place. After the centre console was removed we 3D scanned both sides. We also scanned the off-the-shelf switch. Next we reverse engineered the switch and a section of the centre console. This step wasn’t necessary to design the insert, but was done so to create renders for marketing. We then virtually positioned the switch in the desired location then designed the insert and switch housing.
